Cyclosportives are local French races run on open roads. The routes are simply fantastic, so much so that English competitors have been known to stop and take pictures during the race. Most events have a choice of different routes, with the longest being around the 150km mark. With the Pyrenees as the backdrop, these rides will take in typically 2 or 3 large climbs, making them an amazing ride to remember. Entry costs are very low, usually around 30 Euros. The distance and accessability of these events makes them a great alternative to the Etape du Tour - a more comfortable distance and none of the overcrowding / overcharging problems. For 2007 we have a couple of packages put together so that you can enjoy some of the Pyrenean sportives, but we can also arrange a week to coincide with some of the other events listed at the bottom of this page. |
